Iowa Mortgage Refinance
Landlocked on all sides by Wisconsin, Minnesota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Missouri and Illinois, Iowa is a farming state where over ninety percent of the land is dedicated to agriculture. Known for its egg production, cornfields, and pork, many farmers have in the last ten years developed farming in other products such as honey and herbs. A strong and proud state, Iowa's official motto is "Our Liberties We Prize and Our Rights We Will Maintain". Its largest cities are Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Sioux City, Waterloo, Iowa City, Council Bluffs, Dubuque, Ames and Cedar Falls.
Although Iowa is not listed as one of the states requiring assistance from the HFA Hardest-Hit Fund, it still suffers the blight of foreclosures like other states around the country. But one reason it has managed to keep the rate lower than other areas is the hotline and website (IowaMortgageHelp.com) created in 2008. Called the "Iowa Mortgage Help Hotline", Attorney General Tim Miller feels that the foreclosure rate may indeed be higher than in previous years, but it is significantly lower in general due to the hotline. What is most interesting about his proactive approach is that residents do not have do be delinquent on their mortgage payments to benefit. As many home owners are looking for Iowa mortgage refinance, he urges everyone to telephone, as loan modifications are possible. The idea is that the lender continues to receive payments and does not have the costly act of foreclosure.
One of the biggest problems facing Wapello County residents is the damage from the summer floods. As a result, FEMA has stepped in to offer assistance through temporary housing, repairs, and rebuilding while they try to recover their lives. Needless to say, nature has helped to create a larger foreclosure market. And even those will flood insurance, they may still need an Iowa mortgage refinance to move forward. And the AG has gone after various lenders in an attempt to impress upon them the need to halt foreclosures. He has been successful in some instances of suspending sheriff's sales and evictions. Miller is particularly aggressive when it comes to foreclosures, as he chairs the "13-state State Foreclosure Prevention Working Group".
Despite the fact that Iowa is a "judicial foreclosure state", meaning that lenders must submit documents to the court before taking someone's home, there still have been serious breaches with lenders. As investigations reveal wrongdoing, some are potential violations of Iowa's Consumer Fraud Act. Coupled with job losses, floods, and generally a poor economy, the situation really begs the question whether all home owners should research Iowa mortgage refinance.
But for residents who enjoy life living on the farm and for those looking for a quieter and more serene lifestyle, Iowa may be the place to be.
