Delaware Mortgage Refinance
Nestled snuggly between New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland, on the east coast of the country, Delaware has the historical distinction of being the first state in the Union. Because of this important event that took place in December 1787, the state is afforded the privilege of holding the first position at national events. The largest present day cities are Wilmington, Dover, Newark, Milford, Seaford, Middletown, Elsmere, Smyrna, New Castle and Georgetown. Although the state has been given several nicknames throughout its history, in 1895, the Peach Blossom was named the official flower because at the time, the state was known as "The Peach State" due to the massive numbers of peach trees worth a fortune.
According to various city Chamber of Commerce offices, when compared to surrounding states, Delaware is the least expensive to live. Not surprising, though, because District of Columbia and New York are extremely expensive. And even though there is a higher quality of living on less money, some families still have seen foreclosure and tough economic times. Consequently, the Attorney General's Mortgage Fraud Task Force along with the Delaware State Housing Authority, and The Office of the State Bank Commissioner held seminars in the summer to speak to residents about the potential of foreclosure and mortgage scams. They encouraged all attendees to bring their mortgage documents and other financial papers so that they could speak about their situations. For those seeking Delaware mortgage refinance, lenders and other specialists were on-site for the meetings.
- Delaware has been proactive in its fight to keep residents from losing their homes. The AG's office formed its task force in 2009 to combat mortgage fraud. In addition, it has been providing residents information about various relief programs such as
- Delaware Emergency Mortgage Assistance Program (DEMAP),
- the Foreclosure Mediation Program,
- loan modification programs such as Citimortgage - Homeowner Assistance, Chase - The Way Forward Program, and Bank of America Enhanced National Homeownership Program,
- and ways to obtain Delaware mortgage refinance through Making Home Affordable, Rural Development Home Loans, and Veteran Affairs Loan Programs.
Further, a valuable website, (http://www.deforeclosurehelp.org/), has been established to provide information to home owners in peril. Above all, they and other organizations warn against using mortgage rescue services that demand payments for help. Assistance is available free from a number of charitable organizations, as well as state and federal programs. Before signing a Delaware mortgage refinance on the dotted line, residents are cautioned to be aware of the terms and details of the contract, and to ensure that there is some benefit or relief to the home owners.
Delaware is indeed a lovely place to live. And it is refreshing to see the help provided by its government and community organizations.
